BOY!

In about 19 weeks or so, we will welcome our son, Austin David, into the world!  Now we can refer to him as "Austin" instead of "it".  It seems that much more real now that we know he is a boy.  I know some people wait until birth to find out and obviously before technology allowed, people had no choice but a surprise at birth.  It is really cool to find out and be able to talk about him as "him".  The appointment today went great!  Praise God that everything is healthy!  Everything is perfect as far as anatomy and development.  He weighs 13 oz and is one active boy.  When we heard the heart beat, we could also hear every time he moved which was about every 4th heartbeat...and babies' heartbeats are fast (between 120-170 and his was 150 today).  I have been feeling movement for about a week now.  It is so cool.  It feels like a little flutter or thump inside me.  David or anyone else probably won't be able to feel anything from the outside until 26-28 weeks or so.  We got some great pictures including one of him sucking his thumb.  We don't have a scanner and my scanner at work produces a pdf (not jpg or gif) so I don't know how to upload a picture to the blog.  Help, anyone?  Now we can pick out crib bedding and register for boy-specific things.  I am also excited about going to Target or the like and looking at (or buying!) baby boy clothes!  Thanks for reading and praying for our little baby Austin.

That's it for now...I will post a new bump picture soon.
