Where has time gone? This is mostly going to be a photo post because those are more fun. The third weekend in August, we went to the lake with DiDi and Grandad and Marilyn and Ricky. Austin got to try out his new Strider balance bike, which was his bday gift from DiDi and Grandad. It doesn't have pedals and kids are supposed to learn to balance so that they can go straight to a bike without using training wheels. We will see.....he hasn't quite mastered it. We haven't practiced much since then because it is still sooooooo hot here and I sweat just standing outside for 3 minutes. He liked wearing his "homot", which makes him look like a space alien.

Such a big boy. So proud of himself |
David, Austin and I went to The Houston Childrens' Museum over Labor Day weekend. Austin really enjoyed this adventure. He wanted to stay put at the same couple of attractions the whole time while David and I wanted to explore and see it all. It was crowded and he had to practice sharing with strangers at the museum...that went over well. It was a fun morning and an especially good summer activity to stay out of the heat.

We even got to babysit Max for the weekend. Austin followed him around 24/7...Max was NOT pleased |

Watching the rain with "Seesa". It has been a rainy, humid month |
We went to Pump it Up for the first time for the 3rd birthday party of Meredith Mraz, our friends' Danny and Adriane's little girl. Austin had a blast sliding, jumping, and of course, eating his cupcake. Thank goodness Daddy was there to slide and jump with him! There were many dads there who had the privilege of sliding and jumping in their socks with the toddlers.

Climbing through the tunnels |

Diving right in....he was the ONLY kid of all 25 or so that ate the WHOLE cupcake. There was not a single sprinkle left. He has his mommy's sweet tooth |

Sugar high.....crash! |

We built his birthday present from Great Aunt Carrie and family - a tent that almost takes up half of the playroom. It's okay, I can stash the toys in there and the room still looks clean :) |

Watching DRUMS with Savannah. Austin is obsessed with the Country Music Awards (recorded from August) - especially Hunter Hayes and Florida Georgia Line. Ummm.....He requests to watch it almost every night and usually we give in....what kind of parents are we? He won't even watch Barney or Sesame Street...but loves drums and guitars |
|
This boy LOVES his books. He will sit in his room all by himself and read every book on his new bookshelf. Savannah often joins him....precious. |
