On the Saturday before Easter, we celebrated Campbell's first birthday with a Peter Rabbit themed party at our house. It was really nice weather, so we were able to be outside. We had finger sandwiches (grilled cheese and chicken salad), berries, veggies (Mr McGregor's Vegetable garden), cheddar bunnies, and marshmallows (bunny tails). I made a carrot cake with cream cheese frosting, white cup cakes with butter cream frosting, and a white smash cake with blue frosting for Campbell. MiMi gave Campbell a bounce house with slide and DiDi gave him a baby pool with 200 crush proof multi-colored balls. Fun!! Annabelle, Austin, Meredith Mraz and Rhett (the big kids), and Ben and Summer (the really big kids) jumped in the bounce house and played basketball in the driveway. Campbell, Marshall Mraz, Brooklyn Baker, Jake Bogart, and Nolan Hayes (the babies) played in the balls and tried to bounce with the big kids. Campbell loves getting in the bounce house and sliding face first into the grass off the slide. He has no fear! He liked his cake okay but was more interested in the balloon tied to his high chair and smiling at all of the guests. Social little guy! The favors were garden tools, carrot bubbles and cheddar bunnies in a carrot shaped bag. It was a fun party for our little bunny. Come to think of it, Campbell is a bit like Peter Rabbit - always going after what he isn't supposed to and getting into mischief. More on Campbell at One Year in the next post....
